Limiting Beliefs That Are Holding You Back from Success

What do you believe to be true about yourself? Here is a great quote by Tony Robbins: “The only thing that’s keeping you from getting what you want is the story you keep telling yourself.”

It is not enough to wish for success. The beliefs you have about your business and about yourself, will affect your success as a leader and the results you can obtain in your business. Here are a few of the limiting thoughts that hold us back personally:

  • “I don’t have time to exercise”

  • “I could never do that”

  • “Some people are just lucky”

  • “I am not good with money”

  • “I’ll never be able to retire”

3 Main Beliefs that Prevent your Business from Success

1: I'm not good at selling

Stop thinking that you are the one who sells to the customer, because the decision to buy is ultimately up to the prospect. Your job is help them to see how your services and products can solve their problem and the benefits that your clients enjoy as a result of purchasing your product or service

Selling is not exchanging something for money; it is sharing ideas, inspiring, motivating the customers and getting close to them to earn their trust and hopefully help them solve a problem. To be successful in business, we all have to be able “sell’ our ideas and ourselves in the marketplace

No one will do the promotional work for you, so leave behind this negative belief and trust your abilities and use your creativity to communicate your ideas and solutions.

2: I have too many competitors

It is true that some niche markets are already crowded and difficult to penetrate, but there will always be a “blue ocean” where the market is not inundated with services and products. Find that market, trust yourself and stop thinking that you can’t do it.

3: Unrealistic Expectations

Don’t get too comfortable. Never fully trust your business model- the market changes every day. Every moment there are new technological advances, new competitors and customers demanding more; so you must keep learning and evolving to meet the needs of the customers and provide a high quality product or service that meets the need in the marketplace.
